Safety Starts Before You Even Open the Bag

At Smoke Liquor 247, responsible retail isn't just a policy — it's part of how we do business every single day. Whether you pick up in person at one of our two Orlando locations or place a delivery order, every product you receive is packaged with your safety and your household's safety in mind.

We know many of our customers have families, roommates, and kids at home. That's why we take child-resistant packaging seriously — not because we're required to, but because it's the right thing to do.

Child-Resistant Packaging: How It Works

What Is Child-Resistant Packaging?

Child-resistant (CR) packaging is specially engineered to be significantly harder for young children to open, while still being accessible to adults. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) sets the standard: packaging must be opened by at least 85% of adults but fewer than 15% of children aged 42–51 months in testing.

Common child-resistant packaging types you'll find on our products include:

• Push-and-Turn Caps: The lid must be pushed down while simultaneously being turned — a two-step action that small children lack the coordination and strength to complete.
• Squeeze-and-Turn Caps: Require lateral pressure on both sides of the cap while turning. Common on CBD oils and tinctures.
• Blister Packs: Each individual dose is sealed in a foil-backed plastic bubble that requires deliberate force to puncture. You'll find these on many CBD gummy and supplement products.
• Zipper-Lock Pouches with Safety Locks: These mylar pouches have a secondary zipper mechanism that must be pressed at specific points simultaneously to open. Common for hemp flower and loose products.
• Tube Containers with Press-Tab Locks: Used for capsules and kratom products — the cap has a tab that must be pressed inward before it can be turned.

Our Delivery Packaging Standards

When we deliver your order to your hotel, resort, vacation rental, or home in Orlando or Kissimmee, we take extra steps to ensure the package is safe during transport:

• All products are delivered in their original child-resistant manufacturer packaging
• Orders are placed inside a sealed outer bag — reducing visibility of product contents from the outside
• Liquid products (CBD oils, kratom extracts) are double-sealed and upright to prevent leaks
• We do not leave packages unattended — all deliveries are handed directly to the adult customer
• We verify age at the time of delivery, just as we do in-store

What You Can Do at Home

Even with the best packaging, proper storage is your responsibility. Here's what we always recommend to customers with children or pets at home:

• Store products up high and out of sight — not on countertops or low shelves
• Use a locked box or cabinet for any products you use regularly
• Never leave products unattended on tables, couches, or in bags children can access
• Dispose of empty packaging properly — even empty vape cartridges can contain residual nicotine or cannabinoids
• Keep Poison Control's number handy: 1-800-222-1222 (US National Poison Control Center)
